Hello all — Donald here from Larke Dezigns.
It’s been a little while since my last update, but a lot has been quietly evolving behind the scenes — not just in my creative process, but in the physical space where that creativity happens.
🛠️ New Studio, New Chapter
Last year, I had to say goodbye to the large studio I’d been working in, and since then I’ve been slowly transforming a workshop space into a new creative hub. It’s still a work in progress — dusty corners, reorganised tools, and plenty of trial and error — but the vision is there, and it’s finally starting to feel like mine.
This has made filming my process and doing behind-the-scenes content a challenge — and, to be honest, not having a functioning MacBook hasn’t helped either. Once I’m back up and running with the right tech and space, I’ll be filming again — and I’d love to eventually do some live Q&As.
🎨 Creative Focus — Airbrush & Spray Paint
Right now, I’m immersed in airbrush and spray paint techniques. There's something so fluid and expressive about working this way — blending colours, layering motion, letting the forms emerge intuitively.
I'm seriously considering using this style as the foundation for my upcoming exhibition in August. I can’t share full details just yet, but the energy in this work feels right for that kind of space.
👉 What do you think of this direction? Would you like to see more experimental spray/airbrush work from me? Drop me a comment or message — I love hearing your thoughts.
đź“… Looking Ahead
There is an exciting event lined up for August, and while I can’t say more for now… just know I’m building towards it. Slowly, surely, and with a lot of intention.
In the meantime, I’ll keep sharing updates on my progress, studio rebuild, and the work that’s taking shape.
